WALT: Create strong passphrases
What we learned:
- Its a lot easier to hack /guess peoples passphrases.
- Don't use words from the dictionary
- Don't use information about yourself, because if they know you, then it will be easier for them to guess.
- Movie quotations make good passphrases.
- Special characters are good in passwords, Because if they are using a computer to guess a bunch of passwords the computer would take longer to find it.
- Numbers and capital letters are good to use because it makes the password harder / more difficult to figure out.
Why is this important:
- So you don't lose all your personal information.
- So you don't get hacked, well it makes it more difficult.
- So that you dont lose all of your money from your bank account.

ReplyDeleteI liked the way you all connected that having a strong passphrase helps you be a Smart Learner! Did you think about talking to your parents / whanau and seeing whether you could help them change their weak passwords into strong passphrases? Maybe you could work through the slides with them to teach them how to do it? Nā, Mrs Penno
