 WALT: Navigate our device more efficeintly using hotkeys and different google apps

What we've learned:

• We learned how to use shortcuts - ctrl z (undo)
• We learned what ctrl+alt+? (shows you all the shortcuts)
• Caps lock is actually available as a hotkey
• How to use the find bar
• We learned what the omini box is.
• We learned that google is helpful and how to reset the keyboard keys.

Strong Passphrases

WALT: Create strong passphrases

 

What we learned:

• Its a lot easier to hack /guess peoples passphrases.
• Don't use words from the dictionary
• Don't use information about yourself, because if they know you, then it will be easier for them to guess.
• Movie quotations make good passphrases.
• Special characters are good in passwords, Because if they are using a computer to guess a bunch of passwords the computer would take longer to find it.
• Numbers and capital letters are good to use because it makes the password harder / more difficult to figure out.

Why is this important:

• So you don't lose all your personal information.
• So you don't get hacked, well it makes it more difficult.
• So that you dont lose all of your money from your bank account. 

Maths - Measurement - Future Architects!

 This term for maths one of our focuses is measurement. For this we have been learning about area and perimeter. As part of preparing your students for the future and giving them the skills to be succesful out their in the world we have been using a free architech design platform in order to learn how to build our own homes from scratch. We have been learning how to design a house from the start with floor plans right to the very end with all the finishing interior and exterior touches.
